We viewed more presentations and they consisted of playlists and what the characters trash consisted of. We also started a bell ringer based on Black History Month, featuring Denzel Washington.
I read the poem “The Red Wheelbarrow”, it conveyed themes of dependence and how tools can affect things. I answered 10 questions about the poem and how cultures are represented or affected by things like this. I also explored how different lifestyles live and their dependence on simpler things.
We started reading The Sorrow of War. We read pages 3-8. The character Kien is a soldier on the side of Vietnam. He has seen things and he is one of the only ones out of his original group to survive.
