Cade Daniel, Multicultural Lit 1st, 05/03/2024 Dear future self: I am currently ready to graduate and I am about to do my finals next week. I have a strong belief that I will pass all of my classes and I am not too worried about any one of the finals I have coming up. I am not particularly feeling any particular way about graduation, just ready to be done with high school. I am also ready to move, I am moving right after graduation to Canada. That is more of my concern as it is a less controlled environment. I am actually happy with my grades for once as having almost all 90’s or all 90’s is a big accomplishment for me. All my direct family will be coming to my graduation and honestly they are more emotional about it than me. I just have a carefree mindset in where what happens, happens. I am happy with how I managed to pass all my grades as I was going through some tough things at certain times. I am also glad I was myself more as I got closer to graduating. I am also proud of...

 I found an image to write a poem on. I chose blood as it is a powerful image in many aspects. I wrote how blood has duality to it as it is necessary but it is not “liked” per se. I wrote two themes derived from the poem and then wrote a paragraph on why I chose this image, the themes in the poem, and the literary devices.

 I read the poem “The Red Wheelbarrow”, it conveyed themes of dependence and how tools can affect things. I answered 10 questions about the poem and how cultures are represented or affected by things like this. I also explored how different lifestyles live and their dependence on simpler things.

 I read an article about how sneakers produce waste just by wearing them. The microplastics located in the sole of the shoe get put into whatever ground you walk on. Companies are trying new ways to produce soles such as seaweed based. I answered questions on the text and vocabulary about it and also a short answer response.

 I did a newsella about tech related jobs and the future of them. The article talked about how robots have replaced many jobs in older generations however they have paved way for future generations. It also talked about the skills and traits needed for tech jobs. I answered 4 questions about the article and then vocabulary based on the article.

4-10-24

 We went over the basics of an argumentative paragraph and viewed all the parts of it. We then started to write an argumentative essay about a controversial topic. The topic I got was that baseball is boring. The essay has to include a paragraph for the point, against the point, and a middle ground between the two. I got my first paragraph done today.
